Hi all, this is one of mine earliest compositions which I have reviewed and tweaked these last years ... more recently today.  The years have improved the eye and ear.  So this is the latest version; although, I am still open to work on it!  So all feedback most welcome.

Congratulations.

This is in my opinion a solid, well written and very beautiful suite. Regarding the audio, I'm not sure if it's my hardware but I thing it saturates around 1:22 (and in other parts, generally in tutti parts). I love all the sections, they all are very nice but C & D are my favourite, C as the "core" of the piece and D as a "sunset re-exposition" of the A section which successfully concludes the day.

I would actually pay to see this performed in a theatre or anywhere. Thank you.

Kind regards.

A splendid piece. Accomplished.

I'm of the view that when a composer is sufficiently adept there's little point in me commenting on either thematic or orchestral technique because the composer knows what he/she wants. This work fits in with this. It flows, it has some lovely thematic moments - the opening (which straight away came over as the beginning of the day, sunshine and calm) which you reprise at the close, the harmonies, the careful use of percussion, all give it atmosphere.

If you'll excuse me saying so, it seemed to be idiomatic of American music of mid last century - modern but traditional, slightly Copland, Piston, Grofe...but different from all of these.

Enjoyed listening to it. Surely this is the sort of work a local (but competent) orchestra would like to add to its programme?
