Mixed feelings here. I do like woodwinds and it's always refreshing to listen to a composition for solo flute or a duo/trio of woodwinds overall. The first minute contains things that I would label as "aimless" (which is not necessarily bad at all) but the piece eventually made me dive on its sound unnoticed till I was completely in it. I always say this but I can't avoid it: I would have liked to read the score while listening to the piece.

In any case, I liked it despite not being very convinced at the beginning. Good job!

Kind regards,
Daniel–Ømicrón.

It has a strong classical references however it's clearly a piece written nowadays, I appreciated the rithm just 2 instruments can create. The performance it's almost perfect, it must cost you days and days of practice, incredible! For my personal opinion there's too much repetitions of the same note, in any case the development of the piece is clear and enjoyable, good job

So charming! The interplay between the flute and piccolo was exciting and interesting, and I especially loved the little motifs woven all throughout of the piece. I feel that perhaps a change of pace might have improved its flow ever so slightly. Even prolonging that two-measure half time at around the midway mark would have worked wonders in making this piece seem better phrased, at least in my opinion. Still, it's not easy writing polyphonic music for similar-sounding instruments, but you have pulled off something extraordinary here. This is very well done.

Cheers,

Jörfi

This is an interesting little piece.  I think it's effective.  Any longer and it might start to wear out its welcome, but as it is, it works well.

I do have one nitpick, which is that at m. 19 and m. 72, the flute's imitation of the piccolo melody sounds "wrong" to my ear - the fact that, for instance, at m. 19 it moves directly from the D sharp to the D natural without the 16th note jump up/down that the piccolo does in its version.
