So uploading WIPs is something never do. Or rather, never have done since waaaay back in the day.

But I was messing around tonight with my guitar and jamming over a drum loop from a pack and thought maybe this is the start of something a bit more in line with the Guilty Gear sort of soundtracks.

Curious to know what you guys think. Where do you see it going and what kinds of things come to your imagination?

Thanks in advance

Very cool start!

To me, I think you set up an awesome motif, and the riff is strong, but maybe vocals and a verse would be next? I hear palm muted guitars underneath singing, but I guess it just depends on where you want to take this. If it's instrumental, maybe have a section afterwards with short guitar chord phrasing while the bass gets to play it's parts over that same drum track.

Conversely, it might be cool to have the guitars play palm muted sixteenth note versions of the riff. Hmm, what else... maybe some sort of counter melody on different chords? I could hear something over like a III-VI-i-i progression or something.

I dunno, cool start, but I'm excited to hear where you take this one!

I can totally hear what @Thatguy v2.0 is talking about with this piece concerning making an actual song out of it.  But, coming from a different angle you could also take this in a more orchestral/instrumental direction where you could orchestrate the guitar riff, kind of setting up a dichotomy between the guitar and the orchestra which could mimic the guitars sound with the right orchestration.  Also, I could hear a really weird and high flute melody doubled by violins that could then be taken over by electric guitar (or the guitar could do a countermelody while the flutes/violins do their thing).  That's a really great sounding 30 seconds of music!  Of course mixing it up with the drum pattern and adding some fills would be obligatory.  Thanks for sharing!
