"For making your own piece coming alive with your clean interpretation. Good job, keep composing!"

Thatguy v2.0 was awarded the badge 'Star Performer' and 5 points.

Hello there. This is a solo guitar piece I recorded for a video that's being made. The details of it aren't final, but there will be dancing in the woods, and things to that effect.

I have this tabbed out, so if there's any interest in seeing that I'll make it look pretty, but otherwise, I hope you enjoy!

Oh yeah, it's about a girl 😄

This is great!  I love that almost country guitar kind of feel that I guess comes from sometimes lingering on the tonic note in the top voice excessively.  It's definitely folksy at least.  Great performance and recording which you forgot to mention was made in a professional recording studio!  You also didn't explain what the purpose of the music is supposed to be and who it was commissioned by!  Also - do please post the pdf of the sheet music!  Even if it isn't perfect and exactly what you performed here, I'm sure people would be stoked to follow along and analyze all your chords and chromaticism.  Thanks for sharing and I'm stoked to see the video when it's finished!

Thanks Peter! The video will be recorded over the weekend, I've yet to see it or know exactly what it entails.

You're right I was a bit hasty in the description. The initial bars were an old idea in my back pocket, and when I got the opportunity to do this I finished the idea. Inspiration came in the form of a recent crush lol. Simple ABA form, just going from D major to B minor and back.

The guitar I used was borrowed from the owner of the studio. One day I'll own a $3000 dollar guitar. This was a Taylor 800 series.

Added the tab for ya (corrected the change). Thanks again!

Hey guys, thanks for checking it out!

I love this sound and music. Also the score. I find it very difficult to write for guitar (much harder for classical).

Thanks Luis, glad you didn't mind the score. It was sort of thrown together, but hopefully at least the tablature got the point across.

so sick I puked.  (compliment lolol)

I'm too drunk to drive, I'm just drunk and high af. Put a rated R in the title and post it, some people here might dig it (you know I do)

Really soothing music! That's really difficult to play this great! You really enjoy your own composition and show it to us all!

Thank you, Henry! I rarely show the guitar stuff I've worked on here (I don't know why, maybe it's because the style of music is usually ignored to a degree), but I'm glad this was received well. I'll be sure to share more in the future!

One of my weaknesses is music like this. Reminds me of the guitar playing of Blind Melon (some of their acoustic songs, that is). Love this!

Well, all I can say is that my life is pretty plain. 😄 Thanks for checking it out man

Wow, I hadn't heard an acoustic guitar since I borrowed one to a girl and I never got it back. I should make a guitar tune about that... Well, back to your piece:

• Dandelion is an interesting title. Isn't there a guy called like that in Geralt de Rivia's Saga? I read it in Spanish and it's called "Jaskier" but I remind "Dandelion" being his English translation.

• The whole atmosphere that the sound and your interpretation (badge over here @PeterthePapercomPoseris something else, it never gets boring even after 2-3 listens.

• I always found writing for guitar kind of complicated. When I made arrangements that included guitar tablatures I always had issues that needed to be urgently addressed, specifically in melodic lines because of weird patterns that I made.

• I will save this score (nice measure markings font BTW) for a friend of mine. Perhaps he'll like it.

• One last question: what's the difference between what I marked in blue and what I marked in red?

Thank you for sharing this man, it was definitely a pleasure to listen to it a couple of times.

Kind regards!!

Yes, what better reason is there?

It's a flower, or a weed...w/e. I wrote this about a girl I have a crush on (slowly diminishing as time goes on, for the best lol). I ask her how her day is and the usual response from her is "dandy as a dandelion"

send them to me, I'll help you out. Since a guitar can play the same notes in different positions, it's understandable you'd think this.

the slash line is a slide, so sliding on finger to the next fretted note without picking or plucking. The Blue is a slur, so normally played with a pull off or hammer on. Pull offs are notes that are played in succession in one pick stroke, releasing the higher note with the lower note already being held. Hammer ons are the opposite, your finger acts like a hammer and hits the note with some force to make the note heard without picking or plucking.

Thanks for checking it out Daniel!

I'm having heartache over a guy right now, my emotions are so strong that I can barely contain it.

Something about the sound of this guitar is really giving me some peace.

Why can I never be the bigger person. I preach it, but when my emotiosn are high, it's hard to follow.

I love you Mike. Forgive me.

This is a really beautiful and moving piece, so full of inventiveness, musicality. It's moving without being ever not even close to simplistic. It's constantly surprising without losing a very strong cohesiveness and unity. Wow! I'm listening to it again and it sounds even better than the first play! Also, congrats, it's really a beautiful performance, too.

Hey @SoloYH and @Giacomo925, thanks for checking this one out! It was really fun to work on this project, whenever the video gets posted I'll try and put it up here too 🙂

I re-listen to this and still find this very soothing and I have forgotten to give you a reputation point in the previous listening and I am giving it this time! I am also very excited on your upcoming videos and youtube channel! Btw. I hope you have more girls who will give you inspirations, haha!

@Thatguy v2.0 I love this piece, and it's perfect to use in storytelling. I may even use this again if I decide to make another video that is similar to this style.

If you are interested in business, come watch my podcast explaining why I am running Music Jotter with my own personal finances.

If this helps MJ in even the TINYEST way, I'll consider my music a success
