Luis Hernández Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 When the war started in Ukraine I looked for composers from that country, and as a way to have this horror in mind, I began to orchestrate some piano pieces. This is Moment de désespoir by Mykola Lysenko. An unsurpassable piece, but its my homage. Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Hi @Luis Hernández, I enjoy this orchestration and I have to say the original music is very touching. I particularly like the woodwind passages to show how fragile human is amd those tuttis which show the togetherness of the people. Henry Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Hey Luis! Nice orchestration! I like how you seamlessly pass the melody between different instruments within the orchestra. I thought at first that you might actually have extended some of the phrases in your version, but then I listened to the original piano piece while looking at your score and you don't seem to take any of those kind of creative liberties. Instead, I think your orchestration has a longer duration because it is played slightly slower than the original. The music is very touching and appropriate in the current political climate. I am Polish and Poland just now gave Ukraine some soviet fighter jets - so at least I have something to be proud of! Thanks for sharing! Quote
