Sidescroller Swingin' — Platformer Game Music

I was playing Donkey Kong Country with my nephew, and it inspired me to compose a new loop pack of video game music inspired by old platformer game aesthetics, and with swing rhythms.

I cut the four tunes into this reel. Two more actiony, two more mysterious and mischievous-sounding. Let me know which you like best.

It's very funny here!!! The harmony with the unforgiving thirds and sixths, rhythm, timbre, all are well fitted to the game!!

I love the track in 1:20 most! Very detective feeling here and I am like watching Poirot episodes here! I would say I love the sound effect here the most! The track in 2:20 is very funny too but a little bit ironic in the tone so I like the previous one more.

I love the track in 1:20 most! Very detective feeling here and I am like watching Poirot episodes here! I would say I love the sound effect here the most! The track in 2:20 is very funny too but a little bit ironic in the tone so I like the previous one more.

Poirot is a famous Belgian Detective created by Agatha Christie. Some cases with him as the detective, e.g. "Death on the Nile" and "The Murder of the Orient Express" are released these few years but the quality is bad. There are series of the Poirot's mystetries portrayed by David Suchet on BBC. I do watch some episodes but I just read all the novels by Christie. I just read detective novels and mysteries when I don't want to use my brain at all.

Well I really enjoyed being beguiled by the author with all those red herrings and false clues, and I think having the mystery solved by the detective the greatest fun can be achieved. I just don't like novels by S.S. Van Dine, another early mystery writer who claims mysteries are competitions between the author and readers; I really enjoy being cheated by the author lol since defeating the author means the book is boring...

Maybe my brain is used in other more important areas including music so being cheated in the mysteries is great way of relaxing my brain...
