Piano Sonata No.7 Composed by Tom Dahlenburg

This is a 17 minute piano piece with 2 parts, the first movement and finishing with the second movement. Composed and Performed By Tom Dhlenburg.

Great to hear someone that performs their own works!
 

I'll give some feedback on the first couple of minutes:

It has a great lively mood, but isn't afraid to venture into contrast. I think this is done well.
The harmony sounds like a blend between older eras of classical music, and more modern soundtrack or even pop harmony. Which I think is executed well here, not jarring at all.
The quieter, sustained section, I found myself having trouble following along. This could be the recording quality, or just a tad too much pedal. Either way, their is probably a simple solution to this to make that part of the movement shine through!

Overall, great job with the mood and harmony, and keep it up!

I think there's a bit of a mix of styles and things. In an atmosphere of harmony and execution as classical, you hear a march, which becomes a hymn (reminiscent of the Marasellesa), then returns to the march (with things reminiscent of Mozart?). It also sounds like a ballad at times and in other passages like a "banjo duel" (partly because of the sound).
I don't know if it's conscious or not but later on there are more parts that remind me of other works?

In conclusion, it is a huge work, but I don't know if it could be better organized.
 

For me it is a medley of what sounds to be quotes of your favorite classical and cinematic pieces.  Like already mentioned, among the classical quotes included are Mozarts Eine Kleine Nachtmusic, Beethovens 5th, and Moonlight Sonata.  The cinematic quotes include your stereotypical "action music" that is derivative of Star Wars which you've already written loads of and submitted here before.  There doesn't seem to be much originality to it though because of this heavy reliance on quotation which mostly gives this a comedic character.
