I am a violinist of 16 years and chose to not follow my heart and go to school for violin performance simply because I didn’t think there would be any money in it and I wanted a secure job. Now, regretting my decision but having a stable income, I am desperately wanting to study music and receive a degree in performance in order to sharpen my skills and to overcome my fear and anxiety of auditioning and performing. Is it possible to obtain a violin performance degree/technical degree through an online school/program? I don’t think it would be feasible for me to attend an in-person program due to my full time job.

Please help out a fellow musician in emotional distress, thank you!

I always find it hard to teach or learn an instrument not in face to face but by online devices. I once taught a student through zoom, but his piano is out of tuned so I have to play the pieces according to the out of tuned pitches of his piano. For example once of his piece is in Ab major and I will have to play it in Gb major and that's hard to learn

Do you have qualifications from recital exams from ABRSM or Trinity. Maybe you can try the recital exam first to see whether you fit for the courses. And to attain the certificate you will just have to play 3-4 pieces.
