Luis Hernández Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 (edited) Back to the galant style and its schemata, because it is one of my favorites. I'm writing a suite for keyboard, this is the first one. More to come... It is funny and I love it. Edited October 2, 2023 by Luis Hernández PDF I SUITE GALANTE Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Hi Luis @Luis Hernández, I always like your galant style pieces, since they are always mixed with a kind of modern analytical approach there like your real life profession requires. Is this movement a certain dance or not? Maybe it's an Allemande due to the 4/4 time but I am not sure. Thx for sharing! Henry Quote

Luis Hernández Posted October 4, 2023 Author Posted October 4, 2023 @Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Hello. I didn't write it with any kind of dance in mind. Just to give an outlet for some melodic ideas, etc. This style is very fun and grateful, but I think you have to use those schemata to make it sound like what they were doing at that time. Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 I like the tonic pedal of the phrase after the repeat sign. At first the phrase modulates to Bb major through and F7 but then quickly back to a C7 and back to F major. I like those kind of circular modulations which bring harmonic color to this music. Thanks for sharing! Quote
MJFOBOE Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Loved the harmonic language and light fluffy themes .... It held my attention and bought a smile to my face! Mark Quote
