Brandon S Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 (edited) Ive always wanted to write a piece that the proceeds if ever purchased and performed would go to a good cause. This is the beginning of a slower work entitled "M.I.A.", that all of the proceeds would go to a wounded veterans foundation. Apologies for the awful score, i didnt realize that it would export that ugly, but it's still readable. Edited October 11, 2023 by Brandon S Changed Files to the correct versions. sned Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 wow this is actually really great, you clearly have excellent control over how you use harmony and sequences to develop rich tension in the piece that just feels so nice to be resolved. your use of very thick orchestration but at very minimal dynamics really works at making a thin but meaningful texture, at least with the soundfont you've applied. im not fully convinced that a wind band would be able to pull off the thin texture properly but im sure with a good enough ensemble it would work well. im excited to see the full version of it, if im reading what you said correctly, i'd love to see these ideas expanded upon much more, especially that trumpet solo in the end with the moving clarinets and light trombone accompaniment. MJFOBOE Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 This is a lovely work that reflects the sentiment in the title. Please continue to develop it .... Mark Quote
