sned Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 This was a small project of mine, initially started because of this competition I applied to (which I never even did), but heavily influenced by some things going on in my life that really affected me. (btw I'm a violinist, so I made sure all the nasty string crossings were possible to transition from one another and to play relatively cleanly) PDF if not here 1 Quote
Luis Hernández Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 Very nice string texture in the beginning. Also when the violas and horns enter in the second melody for the climax. And good balance in the second part with all the winds. The result is very cinematographic and some central part resonates me to the Flying Dutchman, but that's just my reminiscences... I liked it very much. Quote
MJFOBOE Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Hi, I really liked the slow steady build up and the lovely color/texture of the orchestration. The supporting strings added a nice tension to the work. Although, I felt the ending came to soon and a bit unexpected. Mark Quote
