Greetings. This will probably be my last piece I will share for the year. I composed a little suite of sorts of adventure film music inspired by the works of John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith primarily. Adventure movies happen to be my favorite kind.

It's over 4 minutes, so none of you better tell me it's too short this time lol.

But seriously, let me know what you think of it.

Hi @AngelCityOutlaw,

The is a collection of great incidental music! The fight of modes at the beginning is interesting! Ionian, Lydian and Mixolydian are fighting to create tension. The 0:56 coffin section is spooky enough like the Luigi Mansion one! And that desert scene in 2:05 is full of middle east influence. The ending is triumphant enough. Btw the drawings look great too which reminds me of those comics.

Still too short considering the excellent quality of the music!

Thx for sharing!

I really dig that stringed instrument at 2:50 or so. As what has become angelcitylaw, your music is rife with idiomatic flavor and well crafted to suit your desired picture.

I'll admit that the themes and overall vibe was a bit stock to my ears, but you do such a great job with craftsmanship that it really doesn't matter. You have a special talent for writing something that paints a particular picture, and this music displays that wonderfully.

If I ever get around to creating a youtube channel, please write my intro.

P.S. Diablo 4 sucks amirite?!?

Also...

...too short 😄

I appreciate it. It's my favorite genre like I said, so I hope it hits the mark

Sounds like a plan

I haven't played since the last time we played, but I heard people were mad about it for some reason.

Writing this as I'm listening but I just want to say that this is so fun, so energetic, and so full of life. You illustrate each of your scenes so vividly! May I ask what instruments you used for this and what daw? I use FL Studio with a selection of Spitfire Audio VSTs amongst a few others.

Thank you so much, Layne!

I use Reaper, and for the virtual instruments...a whole lot of stuff haha.

Off the top of my head:

• Nucleus by Audio Imperia for most of the brass and winds

• Cinematic Strings 2 for most of the strings

• Cinebrass and Cinewinds for legato lines

• Dark Era by Eduardo Tarilonte for the throat singer

• Ancient Era: Persia for the baglama and solo violin

• Olympus Choir for the choir parts which are staccato or marcato

• Orchestral Essentials for the sustained choir, various orchestral fx, some orchestral percussion, harp and celeste

• East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold for the timpani, horn rips, abstract string articulations and a bunch of other things

• Sylenth 1 for sub bass

• Apocalypse percussion for the "cinematic" percussion ensembles

and probably some others I'm forgetting atm

Your melody is outstanding! I just made a dedicated short around Music Jotter's custom note spacing (it's only 16 seconds long), but I was able to loop the victory portion of your melody in pretty nicely. I will be launching my short sometime tomorrow, probably at 11AM EST.

I loved the middle section of your piece too, I would have loved to use it, but it had too much of a boss-like feel to it (even maybe Prince of Persia like). I'll have to figure out how to work this tune into my longer vids.

Thanks a lot! Looking forward to the short!

It's just a very good piece of music, excellent scoring and rendering. The contrasting episodes were superbly timed.

Accomplished. I think I've said it before: you obviously know what you're doing. It might well have been a recorded live performance.

Although I'm rarely interested in film music this piece very quickly proved it could stand alone. It would do well as a concert piece.

Thanks, I do aim for that.

I also very much aim for realism in the mockup, so I'm glad to hear that

You have, but I'm going to be real with you

I never get tired of hearing it lol
