A little Christmas piece that I wrote yesterday to add to the three that I posted last year:

Like the others, it's only about a minute long and is intentionally a fairly simple arrangement.

Great piece! Really nicely written, proportions of the sections are good, the score's clear. Love the way you vary the melody in the recap.

One little comment: is there room for you to make more melodic use of the viola? The cello is also a little redundant, doubling the harpsichord all the time (but I understand this is a basso continuo style) - I think it could be nice to hear a little more counterpoint from the viola. Just something to think about - it's a really good piece as it is. Thanks for participating in the event!

Yeah, but it's so good still! There's nothing wrong with short and simple. In fact, some of the music I enjoy the most is short and simple. Your theme is very catchy and is one I know will come up in some random whistling one day and I'll say, "where the hell did I hear this?" I especially like the short interlude dominated by the harpsichord and colored by the strings. Very smart to give the flute a break for the listener.

This oddly reminded me of Harry Potter. I don't know why. I think it's the instrumentation. Who knows.

Thanks for sharing!
