Claudio Camacho Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) Hi guys. Long time no see. I started composing this fugue in May of last year and I thought I could finish the project quickly, but it was dragging on a little so I decided to stop. Until December, when I recalled this and felt ready to pick up where I left off. I was looking forward to finishing this so much that i haven't been very cautious with mistakes, so I would love for you to let me know if you see any. Although I love counterpoint, this is my first fugue so I still need to develop skills. Thank you. Edited January 8 by Claudio Camacho PDF Fuga en Mi menor score 3 Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Hi @Claudio Camacho, I think this is great first attempt on counterpoint! I love the more stile antico style here. I don’t think there are mistakes here concerning the parallels but I don’t look through the score detailedly since it’s a YouTube score. Thx for sharing! Henry 1 Quote

Henry Oh, you're right, I forgot to upload the sheet music! Thank you, Henry. Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Thx for your update. I notice a parallel octave btw S and T in b.37. Other than it’s good. The subject reminds me of the subject in Bach’s ricercar a6 of his music,a offering, maybe because of the rhythm and pace. Henry 1 Quote

Luis Hernández Posted January 8 Posted January 8 A great Fuga. I was surprised by the chromaticism in the subject which is then very well resolved every time. 1 Quote
Claudio Camacho Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 I appreciate it, Luis! That was thanks to the fact that the subject is short and helps me to play with harmony in a more chromatic way. Quote
