Aw Ke Shen Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) Do y'all think this is more like pop becos of most of it's chord progressions and it's mostly simple, sing-able melodies ( with the exception of m 94,96,102,104) ? Or is it still quite like the waltz as we know it, danceable, strictly in 3 time, from start too end? Personally, I quite agree with what some have told me - that this piece sounds like some kind of anime music. It's just that becos idk exactly know what to title it, so I just simply titled it as Waltz In B ( and yes, just b ). https://musescore.com/user/62605720/scores/13850599 Edited January 21 by Aw Ke Shen Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Hi @Aw Ke Shen, I think this is definitely a waltz. I think it’s pop since it uses the circle of fifth falling bass, but honestly it’s the pop learning from the classical music. Schumann uses a lot of it. And pop and waltz are certainly not mutually exclusive right? There can be a pop waltz. It can add more variety to make it less pop, since pop loves to use tonic minor major modulation and maybe you can modulate to other keys and vary the melody more. Thx for sharing. Henry 1 Quote
