Dylanscataldo Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) I am working on a Disney-type song and wanted feedback on what I have. I know I have a lot to fix regarding piano and voicing in the strings. Any feedback and suggestions to fix what I have is greatly appreciated. Also, the key signature is a bit weird with too many flats... especially for the strings. The chords I want for the strings: Dbmajor, F#major5, Dmajor, Abmaj5 Edited January 24 by Dylanscataldo PDF Changes - Score Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Hello @Dylanscataldo and welcome to the forum! I don't see any Db major, Gb major, D major, or Ab major chords here? I only see a constantly repeated Gb major chord. Maybe you could upload a pdf of a more complete score for us to look at and give us the measure numbers you'd like us to look at? Thanks! Peter Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Hi @Dylanscataldo, I don't see any of the chords you want too! Db major consists of Db, F and Ab, D major is D, F# and A, and Abmaj5 is just Ab, C and Eb? 2 hours ago, Dylanscataldo said: Also, the key signature is a bit weird with too many flats... especially for the strings. I compose a String Sextet in G flat major with 6 flats so it's not weird for me muahahaha. Henry Quote
Dylanscataldo Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 hey @PeterthePapercomPoser I added a PDF. I was talking about the strings being those chords. What looks like it needs to be fixed in terms of voicing the chords and writing the piano better in terms of legibility for a pianist. Thanks! 1 Quote
Dylanscataldo Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 @PeterthePapercomPoser the first string chord is an inversion of Dbmajor. Quote

As I have seen from the score the first string chord is comprised of Gb, Bb and Db with Gb as the bass, so it will be a Gb major chord in its root position! The next chord comprises of B (which should be Cb), Db and F which is a V4/2 chord and not a Db major chord either! 1 Quote
