sorn Posted February 4 Posted February 4 my performance of the piece isn't perfect yet, but I hope it's not that big a deal, looking forward to hearing your opinions 🙂 MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu purest > next PDF Purest 2 Quote
Layne Posted February 5 Posted February 5 You've captured great emotion in this! Love the dark tones within. And a sense of urgency amidst chaos...but I also sense a bit of resolution in a weird way. Could easily see some lyrics over this! Don't know if you plan to add any, but it could make a great villain song. (I've never written lyrics, but always thought it could be fun!) Quote
Gabriel Carlisle Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) Fantastic piece! I love melodically led pieces and this is for sure one. I can see this perfectly as a main theme for a given character, perhaps someone dark but not evil. Overall I loved the song! The only thing I think i would change is maybe add a section where the piece takes a break from the chords you used. Maybe by adding a sudden major chord where there should be a minor (specifically the key in which the song is in) and changing the key to that major and its relative minor can really trick the listener and give them a really nice and exciting surprise! Of course if you’d rather keep it the way it is that’s still ok. Great job! Keep up the good work! Edited February 5 by Gabriel Carlisle Quote

PCC Posted February 5 Posted February 5 This is not a criticism of the music because I find it really charming, but it is of the notation. You clearly played it with a lot control, so why not notate the dynamics, voicing, phrasing, expressions that is apparent in your recording into the score? Quote

yeah I don't remember much when it comes to notation, never refreshed my memory on that since I got out of music school, do gotta get on it, thanks for the kind words though! Quote
