I first came across his work maybe 3-4 years ago, and I immediately knew his music was special. I have since known his trio sonatas well, which are rather beautiful. As for your inspiration for this work, I suppose you drew inspiration from his sacred orchestral works? I can definitely hear that influence, Louis. Although it is challenging to review the score properly with it appearing somewhat disorganised. How do you compose your music? I always put it into musescore directly, but you use MIDI? Tell me more about your process 🙂 Quote

Tell me more about your process 🙂 well i discovered zelenka one year ago and i cant deny how beautiful his music is.The miserere in cminor suprised me so much that i did a deep dive into his sacred music.I m obsessed by his both miserere in c and d minor. I think zelenka is as good as bach. i m going to listen to the trio sonata then 🙂 My composition process is unorthodox since i learned playing music by myself and only by earing pieces at the start(i still struggle to read music but i m training). I used the piano at the beginning but then i switched to a digital audio workstation and a midi keyboard. I just play what i ear in my brain and put it down with the midi keyboard. i often do a chords progression trying to respect the rules and then write the voices on the top. its a plague to transfer midi from a daw to musescore... I wanna upgrade so i m currently teaching myself theory and composition through books, analysis and youtube video. my goal is achieving counterpoint and harmonic mastery to write in baroque style 🙂 then i ll blend this with the style of my famous contemporary video game and movie composers to write music for media Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I like this! I am not familiar with Zelenka but this sounds awesome if sometimes a bit muddy and like there might be some cross relations that I can't quite put my finger on somewhere near the beginning. Also, I know you just imported a midi into Musescore, but there are some enharmonic notation mistakes in the score. Like G naturals should be F double sharps since it's the leading tone in G#. Eb's should be D#'s since they're the 5th of the scale. But the music is epic! I love the tonic pedal at meas. 28 and I think my favorite part of the whole piece is when that steps down to F# at meas. 37. I expected and thought it would be really great if you continued that downward movement of the bass by descending to E in meas. 39. That part sounded freaking awesome though! Thanks for sharing!
