Loctobers Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) Hello all! This piece is meant to capture the essence of a melancholic daydream. Whispering violin solos are followed by dissonant tremolo passages, and as the music crescendos its climax, the melody is taken over by distorted trumpets and harp/glockenspiel runs. Please leave feedback! Thank you. Edited March 17 by Loctobers MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Reverie Dance > next Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Hello @Loctobers! I'm not sure if I've ever reviewed anything of yours before so if not - welcome! I think you've definitely achieved your goal, and this seems like it would have been perfect for our Dreamscapes competition (besides the fact that it's for orchestra)! The piece is very soft and underwhelming - even the loudest parts of it are at a relative whisper. It starts good-natured but some parts of it are quite foreboding and menacing! The arpeggios and overdrive guitar give a very transcendent impression. There is plenty of unique orchestral color with the addition of synths as well. Great job and thanks for sharing! Peter Quote

The crescendo and climax, with the emergence of distorted trumpets and harp/glockenspiel runs, add layers of complexity and intensity to the piece, mirroring the ebb and flow of a melancholic daydream.
