veps Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Tbh this is really just for the purpose of an exercise, I'm not super interested in seriously composing in a style like this. Still, let me know what you think! PeterthePapercomPoser Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Hi @veps! I don't know why you wouldn't want to compose in this style - it is quite bold, modern and thematic/motivic to top it off! It is always harmonically and rhythmically fresh. Maybe you feel stupefied by how good it is and you don't know if you could finish it? Sometimes that has happened to me where I've composed a piece where the concept of the piece was too ambitious for my ability and so I doubted that I would ever be able to finish it. But now that I've changed the way I write I am going back and finishing all those old pieces. Of course, this is all just speculation - but I greatly enjoyed this short little beginning and I thought it proceeded quite lucidly and logically. Thanks for sharing! Quote
Jqh73o Posted July 16 Posted July 16 (edited) I like this, I find it to be scriabinesque but with a slight jazzy color. I think after this there could be a lyrical theme. What are your thoughts on this sketch now that some time has passed since you posted it? Edited July 16 by Jqh73o Quote
Luis Hernández Posted July 21 Posted July 21 It sounds like a very good and promising idea to me too. It is true that sometimes it is more difficult for us to develop things in these languages a little less classic. Quote
MJFOBOE Posted July 21 Posted July 21 It's very inviting .... lots of energy which pulls you forward. My say ... go for it! Mark Quote

Still not really interested in it, this was more me trying to write like prokofiev. Quote
