General Pokopo Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Hello. I wanted to compose something that is fun and easy to make and came up with this one. Not super happy about the outcome, but i wanted to share it anyway 😄  Quote
Bjarke Posted September 13 Posted September 13 From first impression the first minute personally i don't think the chormatic idea add much musicallity to the piece it also seems to be removed later maybe?(for every idea introduced even something on the small detail like the chromatic idea should be thought of in keeping developing it through out the piece with any techniques. I like the chord progression in the intro which i think is pretty cool however i also feel like you add to many layers. Instead of keep adding and adding new ideas one after the other think about develop the onces you already have because there is a limit to how many ideas the ear can listen to at once and still keep interest in. I think a tip when adding layers think about the shared rythmic level. Correct me if i am wrong but i think that if each idea is on a similar rythmic level it can be hard to tell the diffrence as they will blend into eachother and lose their indepence. I fell like also the ending could been more smoothly transition as it sort of ends quickly without any sort of build up "cadance"Â Tip: You can use the beggning to create an ending in order to create the feeling of something familiar sort of like a nostalgia feeling to a cadance. A contrasting section could also help the listner keep interest as too much of the same soundscape can bore the ear (not to say that your idea was boring which it wasn't. It was pretty cool) I thought your build up in the intro was pretty good only thing here was perhaps too many layers added. Cool rythm idea in the percussion. Very nice. Perhaps add somesort of low note to support a bass effect to it? That's what i have for critique. Hope you can use it. Â 2 Quote
