Gabriel Carlisle Posted October 15 Posted October 15 (edited) Yes i have many ballet ideas up my sleeve and this one is four acts long...anyways its not the same as the others and is therefore on its own ballet. Enjoy the piece I wrote for simple variation (solo dance). I'd like any feedback if at all possible! Thanks so much! No. 7, Pas de six - III. Variation II (Adagio).mp3 Edited October 15 by Gabriel Carlisle Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Hi again @Gabriel Carlisle What a dark and brooding piece! The low strings punctuated by rising pizzicato figures set the stage for the heterophonically imitative melody between the flute, oboe and clarinet, with the bassoons answering below. I especially love those bassoons as they give much dark color to the piece. But the middle section transition to C major at 1:20 brings some brightness to the texture. The alternation between the C major key and its minor subdominant is lovely. I also really like the transition back to A minor at 1:42 - 1:56. I think you're using your skills at writing video game music to create ballet scenes and it's turning out really nicely! Great job and thanks for sharing. Nitpick: I noticed (just barely since the score is small in the video) that sometimes you seem to use the wrong enharmonic spelling like Ab instead of G# as a leading tone back up to A natural. Quote
