Steve Reich

The New Music Ensemble here is performing Music for 18 Musicians in a month or so. I came <> this close to getting a small piano part. The Ensemble went to Carnegie Hall recently and met the man. I have seen pictures of them hanging out with him. Lucky bastards.

Anyway...interesting work the man does. Yep.

Uhhhh, sorry about this - I've never got on with Reich's music (compared with Nyman, say). I attended a performance of some theatrical piece - The Hole, I think (the set-up was multi-tiered & covered about everywhere under the proscenium arch)... I had to leave at the mid interval.

I'd have loved to see the musicians hanging out with him... on a line to dry, I mean, not gallows...it wasn't their fault. I'd have loved to met him - then I could claim my money back + maybe get a drink or two.
