Hi all!

This is my setting of the Heine poem, "Der Tod, das ist die kühle Nacht." This poem was set by Johannes Brahms in 1884, included in his Op.96. I decided to set this poem during my first semester of college, studying vocal performance, because I was assigned Brahms' setting of the text but wasn't satisfied with his take on it (sacrilegious as that is).

The playback isn't the best, seeing as it's just a MIDI export from musescore, but I'm going to try and record it myself when I get a chance.

I hope you enjoy!

Hi @mercurypickles,

The modulation fro Bb minor to its tritone major is absolutely daring choice!

Your texture looks Brahmsian here too!

I think in b.13 you can mark the music in Cb major to avoid the sharps.

Thx for sharing!
