Sonata_5 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Durante partimento 13.pdfThis is my first real realization of Partimento that I am confident in with Durante no 13. I would appreciate some feedback on it. Thank you! PDF Durante partimento 13 1 Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Hello @Sonata_5, Would you have the sound rendition for this one? By reading the score, I think it’s a nice Scarlatti Sonata. Nice use of the subject for cohesion. The modulation in b.17 is effective as well. Just a few points to note for me. For every of the imitation of b.2, there is a hidden fifth, which means the fifth is approached by a similar motion and the top voice is in leaps, rather than steps. In strict counterpoint this would be named an error. I think you can develop the passage after b.20 a bit in E major, since for me you have tonicized E major there but you don’t build the next passage on the key! I think the dissonance in b.43 can be avoided by having the G in alto to a B. Also before entering B minor in b..45 I think you should have a dominant chord for it and introduce A# first before entering the key! A nice on the Baroque Sonata! Thx for sharing! Henry Quote
Sonata_5 Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Oh for b 43 I cannot change the bass since this is a Partimento Quote

Yeah so I suggest you changing the alto, not the bass....😅 Quote
