PeterthePapercomPoser Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Hello @Mihăiță Zamă and welcome to the forum! It's wonderful that you're playing your own compositions! I perceive this piece as perhaps mildly dissonant but still quite accessible. Is this the complete piece? The recording seems to stop in the middle of a sustained note, so it seems like maybe it was cut off. I'd say it sometimes ventures into unnerving and creepy territory, but not overly so. Would you be willing to provide a PDF score for the members and myself to follow along with while we listen? Thanks for sharing! Quote
Mihăiță Zamă Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Thanks. There it stops, it's atonal. Basically it has no tone. Although I know it's an atypical conclusion 1 Quote
gaspard Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I listened and I think you have a really good sense of extended harmony and how to make it “pretty” without being generic at all Quote
Mihăiță Zamă Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 This is a very different work of what I generally compose Quote
林家興 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 There are actually some very pleasant harmonies in this; the way you've voiced the dissonances, with mostly a more open type of spacing, gives them less of that harsh/gritty feel and more of a floating/suspended quality. Although you say it's atonal, sections of it (especially near the start) occasionally seem to wander about a tonal centre, although it is by no means fixed. And kudos for the live performance! Quote
Mihăiță Zamă Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 Thank you very much. A big problem is that I don't have sound equipment or someone to perform my songs... I would like to find a good pianist who would agree to play and record them so they are worthy of being published on Spotify. Quote
