RaphaelWalsh Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Hi all, It's been a few years since I posted anything but I've been writing music on and off and have finally composed something I am relatively pleased with and I would love to get some feedback. As it has been a while and I am in no way shape of form a professional composer, I do apologise if the score is messy, hopefully I can rectify any messiness in the future 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to listen/read. -Raphael MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Andante No.2 > next PDF Andante No.2 1 Quote
Atlantis_ Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I love how the harmony and melody interweave so well. Good job. Especially at the 1:01 mark. The harmony blushes at about the 1:12 - 1:30 second mark. Quote
Alex Weidmann Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Hi Raphael, Nice work on your composition! Like the way it alternates between shades of light and dark. The score does have a few issues. Some of your slurs are too long. Remember these represent bow-strokes; not phrasing. You should indicate whether parts are div. or non-div. so they know when to play double-stops. Sometimes your note stalks are pointed in the wrong direction, and you often have unnecessary subdivision of notes into tied pairs. Also some of the enharmonic spelling looks wrong/inconsistent to me. Think most of your G flats should be F sharps. Thanks for posting, Alex Quote
MJFOBOE Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Hi, This is a sweet work ... reminds me of movie scores from the 1930's. My only observation is the work could be enhanced with some contrary motion. Mark Quote
