christianc Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Hello performers of all instruments, Hmmm, first I have problems with my english, so let me define some words: - Triplets (Three tied notes valuing 2 "ordinary") - 5lets (5 tied notes valuing 4 "ordinary") - Etc. :P So! When you have 5lets, 7lets, xlets to play...do you have play them of equal value? I believe you have to for 5lets... and not for 7lets and shorter but... what notes should be shorter,? Is it up to performer? Will I get stroke by Composer's God if I don't do them straight??? What's your opinion? Quote
CaltechViolist Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Once you get to the higher numbers, it's probably a lot more important that they flow well than to have a high degree of rhythmic precision. The listener's ear isn't really going to be able to tell the difference if septuplets aren't perfectly even. Quote
