How do you make a midi, MP3 quality? No, I'm not asking how to convert a midi to an mp3, but how to make your midis sound more realistic when you save them to MP3 format. Secondly, are there anyways I can do this for free? Not all of us have the cash to buy all that high tech music software.

you'll need GPO, and GPO comes with Finale 2007, so you'll need Finale.

Wrong, Trout. GPO isn't the only software avaible to convert MIDI to quality MP3. You can try soundfonts, they're free and avaible on the internet, although the sound isn't as great as GPO. If you have the money get the Vienna Symphonic Library, fantastic realism but large price.

Hmm.. I'm interested in soundfonts, but once I got the soundfonts, what programs could I use to make use of them?

The Synthfont - that's the program to use. It's a wonderful program written by Kenneth Rundt. Just d/l and run. And to get good sf2 files, search in google - there are a lot of them in different sites.

The way I do it is quite simple (pretty damn effective, too)...I make a wish upon a shooting star!

That shooting star then introduced me to GPO, so I bought that, and then made high quality mp3s. It's kinda impossible to make a midi sound good without a sound library of some sort.... it's ok..... I still love you.
