Hi everyone, my name is Diego alegre, known as Diegoale2000 , and I'm herer to present my RPG: Dreams: Essence of Life

Now, I posted once a while ago, and advertized my game, however, now I't become a HUGE project, and is actually commercial! we've got artists, animators, 3d artists, voice actors, etc.

and we're trying a completely new style from what it used to be! all the environemts are hand Painted!

Now, I am currrently seeking a Composer who can work for Dreams, of course It's a paid job

while it may not be a lot (around 5 us dollars -or a bit more per song) It's definetyl a lot more than nothing at all

we are seeking someone to do Background music, and one of the inspirations that could be good is like the Studio Ghibli's animations' music style.

also, here's some samples:

RADIO.BLOG.CLUB

La Chevre, by Vladimir Cosma is a good sample of the environmental music style that would be good.

RADIO.BLOG.CLUB

another sample of the styles we're seeking for.

etc...

we're looking for a lot of Natural feeling compositions, which would fit the world of Dreams.

Hahaha, so the project is alive again...looks awfully familiar!!

Remember me, Warnicro? Tis Marius! The guy who was originally doing your music! I'd love to help you out again since this project is back alive, let me know if you'd like my help again - I've got plenty of new samples for you

I could attempt to do some stuff along with someone else.. but since this would be my first attempt at writing, you should have someone else work with me.. or..

I don't really have any experience, but I can attempt this if you want to. I love writing in my head for video games, and I'm pretty good with that, but I never actually wrote anything down. I'm also very good at transcribing, so it might not be that bad. I'm not sure if I have that much experience, though, or even the right software ... I have Finale Notepad, but maybe someone else could write with me or something..

HAH!! Marius, that is SO you, always looking for a new job! I don't know how you do it all!

Anyway, Diego, if you need someone for another RPG I will certainly take a look at it. Marius seems to be ontop of things!

I wish the best of luck to your project.

I'm working in the computer games industry. And I do have to comment on the price you're offering a little bit, if you don't mind (which you might, but I just can't let go...)

5$ per song? You mean that a composer will sit down compose a 2 minute song, orchestrate it, produce it, spend tens of hours (or lets say 10 to be fair), and he will get 5$ for that???? So you value a composers time 0.50$ per hour? How much does a guy working in TESCOS, or any supermarket get? Around 7$ per hour? This is quite ridiculous.

Second point. Assuming you have some kind of budget, and end up with 20 songs. That's 100$! How much money do you expect to earn from the game. In my world commercial game means 39.99$, or 29.99$, or heck 19.99$. Considering you sell 5 copies, you've covered that amount! I certainly hope you sell more than that.

what does commercial mean exactly? Have you found a publisher? Will you go indie? Care to explain, cause if there is a publisher then the prices I'm afradi are mighty higher than that. :-/

further more, let me give you a little insight to what I've given to my TINY studio:

My computer: 1500$.

Headphones: 250$

Cubase SL3: 300$

EWQLSO Gold: 500$

EWQLSO Gold XP PRO: 500$

EWQLSC (Choirs): 500$ (All in sale, yes!)

Synthogy Ivory: 299$

Of course I personally have covered my expenses long ago and doing quite alright. But it is highly unfair to Marius to do that, imHumbleo.

I personally charge way more than 5$ per song (and I charge the minute not the song, mind you), so... Just do keep in mind that in USA game developers are buying music for 1000-1500$ per minute. Just to see how far off you are.

Anyway good luck with your project. I've heard Mairus's music and it is really fine music. And he's quite talented and dedicated. :)

Sorry for my 2 pennies... :)

nick, you may not know but as I said, this is not a big budget project, and it is Definetly more than a free request.

It's not an obligation, but mroe of an invitation to musicians who want to work for something they're interested in, what I'm offering I'll deliver, and these composers KNOW what I'm offering.

hey it can be some good pocket money :)

Nikolas, your input is informative, timely and appreciated, as usual!

About this project though...while I am well aware that $5 is a ridiculously low amount of money compared to the standard rate, but this particular project happens to be the very first one I ever worked on, way back when it was nothing but a tiny little project. So to see it back up and running again got me sort of excited - I guess it's got some sentimental value for me.

So regardless of the money, I'd like to work on it so I can see it completed and out there. :) I guess we'll see what Mr. Diegoale2000 thinks :)
