Why is there some kind of limit on how many smilies you may have?

I mean, if you quote a person who has used the max. amount, you can't use any.

It bothers me.

actually, correct me if I'm wrong, i think it may be to stop people filling their post with smilies which would slow down the loading of the page

I'm not sure if it's about loading the page quickly as much as it is about smily-over-saturation. Posts become annoying very quickly when lots of smilies are used.

I do know that, but it annoys me that I can't use them if I quote, and i like to quote :)

sorry about the double posts, i always forget on these snazzy forums you can edit your posts, i'm used to prehistoric guitar forums where all you can do is post!

Saiming; people don't mind if you take the smilies out of quotes, it's not like you're detracting from what you want to say with the quote.
