Hello,

I have a project in what I plan to gather a team of coders, pixel artists, and musicians to re-make toghether old games that had been covered with dust over the years.I am looking for a composer that can do midis of songs that I will give so the other composer that we currently have could work smoothly by editing the instruments and other properties of a song.

Requirements:

- we need someone that can make midis of the respective songs fast

- someone that can work in a team

- someone that uses MSN Messenger (not really necessary, we can use other methods of comunications ;) )

If you are interested:

add me as andyblah@hotmail.com on MSn Messenger or send me a e-mail to the same e-mail adress as mentioned before.

PS: This project is FREEWARE so don`t expect to get profit from it, sorry.

Thanks,

Questions:

-How fast is "respective fast" ?

-By "do MIDIs", do you mean that we are to transcribe the original soundtrack pieces into MIDI format?

-What exactly would the other composers be doing with the MIDIs we produce? What editing of instruments and properties are they going to be doing? Will they be re-working our bare transcriptions or will they simply be making mp3 recordings using sound libraries?

I ask because I know there are a few members on here at least who are capable of transcribing, editing and producing the pieces on their own and would not take too readily to being used as nothing more than transcribers for your "other" composers. Remember, we are creatures of ego and excess! ;)

Anyway, I'll contact you to ask some more about the project. :)

To the 1st question : The "respective" fast is variabile from 1 to 3 days but this isn`t quite needed if the composer is busy

2nd question: I will give you some song in various formats and I want the composer to re-compose them (by arranging the notes and such)

3rd question: Well, there is just 1 composer in this team, but this may change ;). I cannot anwser this question, I will ask the respective composer to anwser this.

Thanks for asking,

I think the best plan, if more than one composer is involved is to have each work on different pieces at the same time.

Midis would be obtained, edited, arranged, etc. Then probably mp3s created.

Which games are you looking into remaking? Many, many of the old games have been converted into ROMs and are widely available to download to run on emulation software. I'm assuming then that you're looking towards the obscure games?

Well, I don`t want just to "update" the games. I want to update it to a new coding(re-coding) some retro-looking graphics and some re-maked music. The games that are officialy planned are:

MadTV

Constructor/Street Wars

Aerobiz/Aerobiz Supersonic

Stunts (4D Sports Driving)

Marble Madness

And the rest that I didn`t include yet aren`t "officialy" planed (this means when our team will grow up to 20 coders and we could handle to handle more than 2 games at a time we will run a poll on the forums to choose witch game will be re-maked next.

Hm, sounds interesting.

Shouldn't be too hard for a seasoned composer with a good ear.

Good luck with your project.
