Maestro Akhil Gardner Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Hey Mike, Can I be a judge ?? Akhil G.
Maestro Akhil Gardner Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Hi Letehn, Thanks for that. Now have you decided to learn Waldstein afterall ?? I'll go over the rules of "Critiq-ing" or to be grammaticly correct - "Being a critique" Akhil G.
Guest Anders Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Actually, I decided to learn 'Wedding Day at Troldhaugen'' from the grieg lyric pieces. I've also been fiddling with the pathetique sonata.... I'll do those two first.. Then maybe.. ;) We need even more judges.
Guest Anders Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Yes, welcome to the competition. :glare: I think that does it, no more contestants. We still need more judges though.
Guest Nickthoven Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Just giving an update as to how I'm doing on this. I'm about 1/2 done; it is in 2 parts. The first part is done, variating rhythms slowly, like minimalism. The second part will be rhythmically constant, and with much harmonic variation. It is basically a chaconne, as the variations are on a harmonic progression, not a melody. I hope this is ok. Also, I will be able to record myself playing this for the final product, as it is pretty easy. Also, if anyone wants, after submissions, I'll try to read other contestant's pieces and record them as well.
piano_player18 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I would like to judge. I hope my computer will work for it. Am I just using judge sheets and listening to the compositions?
Chad dream eyes Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 I'm going to have to drop out, I have no time to create it! Darn Choir and its want for a piano!!!!!:)
Marius Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Hi guys, I've actually got a piece I'd like to submit. Since contestant entry is closed, it won't count though and unfortunately I don't have the sheet music since it was recorded; but I'm sure that's fine since it won't count to begin with. Also, if you still need a judge and think me worthy then let me know, I'd be glad to.
Guest Anders Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Actually, you are a contestant. you can submit your piece here: http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/Solo-Piano-t1229.html
Marius Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Whoa; sweet! Thanks Letehn, I'll make sure to post it when the deadline's done!
eldeni Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 it has to be at least 5 variations right?, I already have my theme and 2 variations... I doubt I´m going to finish by this saturday, I have no time, and I have a gig that day and we are rehearsing, but I promise I´ll do my best to have it ready.... my final question would be... is it still a minimum of 5 variations?
Guest Anders Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 piano_player18 has been added as a judge
Daniel Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 could i be removed as a contestant please? I'm really sorry, but im very busy with exams atm.
Marius Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Ok, so my submittion is not posted because I just want to clarify that it's allowed. I now have the full score for it and everything so it can be a proper submittion but it's a little on the large side. It's 20 variations...yeah so I got a bit carried away, so sue me. But anywho, as soon as someone comfirms whether or not this'd be allowed, I'll post. thank you!
