J. Lee Graham Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I've attached a MIDI of a piece I learnt when I was a kid. I lost the sheet music years ago. I can't remember who the composer was, only that I'm pretty sure he was Italian, and I only know the piece is a Toccata, and I think I remember it was a movement from a sonata or other larger form. This MIDI I produced when I tried to write the piece down from memory. There are a few mistakes I'm sure, but the piece should be unmistakable even as is to anyone who knows it. If you know the piece, would you please be kind enough to let me know what it is, so I can buy sheet music for it? Thanks! Quote
Will Kirk Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Could be Bach, that would be my first guess. Has a distinct Barouqe feel to it, or perhaps CPE Bach? Quote
J. Lee Graham Posted January 14, 2007 Author Posted January 14, 2007 It is definitely baroque, but I'm almost positive it's an Italian. Thanks for trying, though...I appreciate it. Quote
EldKatt Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 The Werner Icking Music Archive has what you're looking for. The composer is Pietro Domenico Paradisi. Quote

Daniel Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 EldKatt already found us the composer, Nico. Good memory Lee! Couple of slips here and there, but I'm impressed. Quote
Guest CreationArtist Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Didn't listen to it yet, but Toccata and Fugue? :o Quote
J. Lee Graham Posted January 27, 2007 Author Posted January 27, 2007 Oh my goodness! Thanks EldKatt, so much! Thanks all of you for trying to help. Good memory Lee! Couple of slips here and there, but I'm impressed. Heh, thanks. And I don't think of myself as having a particularly good memory. I really do have trouble memorising things...always have...but I loved this piece and learnt it well. Haven't played it in years...it'll be interesting to see if I still can. It's interesting that this very baroque piece was pubished in London only two years before Mozart was born (1754). Quote
