YC search plugin for firefox

The wonders of simple open-source code! :ermm: To install the plugin, do the following (sorry for the lack of a snazzy installation package!):

  1. Download YC.text from down below
  2. Change the extension to .src
  3. Put it in C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxsearchplugins
  4. Restart firefox
  5. Observe!

Feel free to edit and/or improve this! (remember to wrap search tags around the finished file)

Anyone want to put together a version for the wiki? :D

You have to edit the extension rather than just renaming it.

Make sure your folder options have "view file extensions for known file types" turned on, then you can edit the extension.

Thanks guys. :D

For some more snazzyness, place the attached image in the searchplugins folder (remember to kee the name of the file YC.PNG)

Is firefox better than IE, and why?

Yes. Security, ease of use, plugins and extensions.

What about the plugins and extensions? What can you get for it?

Try searching the addons repository and see what you can find. I haven't had a need to touch those settings, so I don't have a good answer, but other people may have created a plugin to manage it.

Thanks. I checked it out and found what I needed.

Considering Firefox is largely adopted by the Open Source movement, it shouldn't be hard to find anything you need.
