Guest Invisionary Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 One movement of a sonata is fine. Unless you'd like to submit a complete sonata. By March 17th I don't think I could compose a three movement Sonata. One movement maybe, but not three. By the way, I like this idea of a monthly competition.
Spectrums Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 No problem. Glad to help. Thanks for helping to organize all of this!
Jeremiah Hong Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Hi, everyone. I just wanted to let you know that the deadline for submitting your entry is coming up, so if you haven't started on your sonata, I suggest you do so now.
Keerakh Kal Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Man, I thought we were composing a march. Darn. I was already thinking of ideas before the page finished loading... ~Kal
Mark Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 The deadline is March 31st.Not the 17th. You will have until March 17 to compose and submit a FREE FORM SONATA. Remember the rules: *A contestant may NOT vote for himself/herself. *Any sonata posted after March 17 will not count. Good luck and have fun! hmmmmm
Spectrums Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 When did he put that? I had always assumed it was the end of the month... I'll talk to Jeremiah about it. Sorry for the confusion.
Dirk Gently Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I think it's the 17th so that there's available time to vote for the best piece...
Spectrums Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 CHANGE IN PLANS: You now have until MARCH 24th to enter your piece. Jeremiah and I went over it. So there you have it.
Guest Invisionary Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 CHANGE IN PLANS:You now have until MARCH 24th to enter your piece. Jeremiah and I went over it. So there you have it. Then I may have time... I don't think I can have even this single movement done by the 17th. Maybe by the 24th though.
Guest Invisionary Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 When we submit the work do we post it as midi or mp3? And should we post a score?
Guest Invisionary Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Wow, I just wrote the rough copy of my entry in one night! :D It's weird... On some days I cannot get anything and on other days a piece comes super quick. Love those days!
Mitchell Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 You will have until March 24 to compose and submit a *Any sonata posted after March 17 will not count. Good luck and have fun! fix this.
Guest Invisionary Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 fix this. I'm turning mine in the 16th just be be careful. :P
Guest Invisionary Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Ok, I'll turn it in the 23rd then. Is a score required? Should it be posted in midi or mp3 link? *echo*
Glassworks Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 You can't write a march for keyboard. Have you ever tried to carry a grand piano around a football field? What about those 80's rock band synths that you wear like a guitar? You could march around with that...
Jeremiah Hong Posted March 15, 2007 Author Posted March 15, 2007 MIDI and mp3 files are both acceptable. A score is not required.
Guest Invisionary Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Cool. I'll probably post a link for the mp3 and attach the midi then.
zentari Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 I'm worried mine won't be up to par with everyone else's...
KSP Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Heheh, Mine is slightly atonal ;) There's no need to worry.
