Guest CreationArtist Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Perfect Pitch Ear Training SuperCourse: Name Notes & Chords by EAR. Is this product worth spending $120 for? The is a 40 day money back guarantee (although I'm not sure if there is a catch). What do you think? Is there a better product than this? Quote
Guest Anders Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 No. You can find this at your local (music) library and rip it to your PC - it's what I did and it works excellently. Quote
Guest CreationArtist Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I didn't think of that.. the music section in the library.. thanks! I hope they have this or something like it there though. I'll check online. EDIT: I don't think they would have it there, since that wouldn't make sense. What did you find at your library and did it work for you? Quote
Guest Anders Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I found this exact course, actually... Why should they not have it? I'll be back to report what I think of it later. Quote
Mark Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I'd be pretty skeptical about things like this. And in my opinion (and that of many) good relative pitch will serve you much better than perfect pitch. Quote
christianc Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I downloaded it some months ago... It's always really slow and repetitive. Like, in every track, he repeats that you don't actually "hear a color" you just... you know kind of feel it...etc. Some exercices were interesting, though... like playing many notes (gradually) on a piano, then singing them. I got bored and swithed to relative pitch (which I'm also getting bored of btw)... I would really like to hear someone I can trust that got his perfect pitch following Burke's instructions... Anyway try it! This 40-days garanty isn't very appealing from my point of view, since all the firsts exercises are pretty easy and repetitve as I said. So in 40 days, chances are that you will only be on the first phase where you just start to "unlock your ear". And if you don't know how to, ahem, try it... then read about torrents  Quote
