Can we make private chatrooms?

Hey, I was wondering if we were allowed to make private chat rooms? I tried twice but it wouldn't show up as a room.

you can whisper to people, not sure how though...

Just click the ''Add'' button besides the room drop-down menu, check the box for public or private, enter room name, enter optional password and then click create.
