talib aswad Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Terry Ewell's videos on youtube. He's a bassoonist. Watch his Flight of the Bumblebee performance first because he is restricted by the television company. He explains this in his other videos and demonstrates his technique. blm22 Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 I'm A Tuba player and I always wanted to know how to do that so I could do long solo's and stuff, That's pretty cool Quote
Dirk Gently Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I heard a trombonist play that once .... Never heard a bassoonist play it....fits the trombone better, but still fun on the bassoon :P. Great playing :D. Quote
James QZ Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I'm trying it as hard as I can on the flute, but it doesn't work! Anyone? Quote
christianc Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Sorry, I only know for clarinet... It's probably very hard on flute... For clarinetists: Really, just puff your cheecks at maximum and inhale FAST with your nose... You should not have to apply much pressure on the cheeks while you are inhaling, less is much! Wow, circular brathing is amazing... and it impresses a lot :P Quote
talib aswad Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 It would amuse me to watch a class of 4th graders try to circular breathe the Twinkle, twinkle variations using recorders :P Quote
Marius Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Wow Talib, that was a really random thought :D :P Quote
healey.cj Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 jazz artist James Morrison doing it on trumpet... http://www.jamesmorrison.com/video/I%20Asked%20For%20A%20Blues.wmv plus some good music :-) lol Quote
Varnon Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 I finally learned how to do that a few months ago. And I don't even play a wind instrument. Its such a weird technique. I wonder who first discovered it. I think its a pretty standard technique with indian wind insturments. Quote
penguinsbyc Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Thats pretty flippin' awesome. I tried to learn circular breathing once....It ended in lots of spilt water and lost dignity (My teacher recommened practicing with a straw and blowing bubbles in a cup of water) Quote
