Jonathon McKenna Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Has anybody here ever had any success with selling their music online? If so, how did you do it? Is there a website where composers can make money by selling their music? Perhaps a website where game developers can go to find cheap music or something? (no doubt I'm sounding naive but hey, I can at least ask right?) Quote
Mark Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 SoundClick - Free MP3 music download and much, much more. Quote
colinthomson Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 So is soundclick the best option? Is it the only one? Thanks. Colin Thomson Quote
nikolas Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Not sure it is exactly what you're looking for but: How to make it... - CGEmpire The most impotant thing, since I've never heard any of your stuff. Is your music "sellable"? Is it commercial quality? Can it stand to direct comparison to the professinal composers out there? Quote
Mark Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Colin: I wouldn't say it's the only one, as for whether it's the best one, it's difficult to say, as I haven't come across any others of its type. If you're looking to work on a game you could check out GameDev.net - all your game development needs lots of games in the devlopment stage that may need composers. You may find it difficult to get paid work, but if you do a few freeware games you can get your name known and increase your chances of getting paid work. All this is banking on you being good, of course :) Quote
Christopher Dunn-Rankin Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I wouldn't worry about selling your music at this point. Anyone who says that you can't make money producing great art is full of crap. Either they're jaded because they've set themselves up against the rest of the world and that's why they can't make money, or they just don't know what the hell they're talking about. Quote
