The brief does state ''2 instruments of any kind..'' so I don't think that would be possible/fair...

Also; RM Clarinet, Beethoven and Violinfiddler - we've decided to not endorse any of you as judges. Sorry. Would you still like to remain a competitor, Violinfiddler? Or should I take you off the list?

Well, I would like to do it, but there is no garuntee that I will come up with anything by then, can I wait a couple of weeks before withdrawing?

So long as you actually tell us before the deadline that you're withdrawing (if you end up doing so), I wouldn't imagine there'd be a problem.

Of course, it would be vastly preferable if you could avoid withdrawing. Otherwise, these participant lists can be construed to mean very little. That isn't terribly good for our competitions system! :D

Yeah, that's why I want to wait a couple of weeks yet. But I'll let you or Anders know if I do end up withdrawing.

Oh, and this may have been mentioned before, but when being judged, does the presentation of the score count for anything? I am now in the habit of trying to make the score as clean as possible before submission, and would like to know that work is being put into good use (besides players reading it easier) :P.

I have the same question, but for the opposite reason. My scores usually look a little better than cow dung, but not by much. It's readable but not perfect.

I've read that the composers list is full already, but I've also seen that some people is considering withdrawing. Is there any possibility that I can be added to the list if someone withdraws?

So we should submit a midi and a score (obviously ), but how about mp3s? If I finish before July 22nd (not likely, but it

Possibly, although by that stage it may be too late for you to start anything.

Just write one anyways, it's good motivation, after all! Especially when somebody just might drop out. ;)

Should we consider letting others in on the basis that only the first "however many" may be judged?

I seriously doubt everyone finishing the piece. Though the amount of time given is generous and the task quite simple compared to the symphonic one but.......... we all remember the turnout for that.

An interesting proposition, and something to keep in mind for future contests.

I have a question: Can we post the work in a separate thread on the forum now too? Or must we wait until the contest is over?

I think it's ok, I remember that's what Rafn did. But I would also be interested if we are allowed to do this.

Go ahead. I don't see any problem with it.

You're free to do whatever you want with your submission until the deadline. ;)

The topic will, when the deadline arrives, be locked to prevent further changes to your submission. Alter it while you've got the chance.

Hello Anders,

A while back, I asked about switching to a judging position, because I wouldn't (and still don't) have enough free time to finish a composition, but I could judge. Please let me know if this is still an option; otherwise, I need to resign from the competition altogether.

Thank you,

David
