Guest Anders Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Grieg was the of the consise and brief form. This is very easily seen in his lyric pieces (lyriske stykker) for piano. Here he, with an almost ''poetic'' clarity, express the big in the small. Do you enjoy the lyric pieces? Have any favourites? Why? Quote
Maestro Akhil Gardner Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 "Erotikon" Op.43 No.5 - Written in 1886 "Wedding Dat at Troldhaugen" Op.65 No.6 (1897)- For it's light mood, & because it's the 1st Grieg Piece I heard. Originally Written under the title "The Well-Wishers are comming" in honour of the 50th Birthday Celebrations of a family friend, but memories of his own silver - wedding anniversary a few years earlier prompted Grieg to change the title. For me these sum up Grieg's compositional nature - DREAMY Akhil G. Quote
