I would like to share with you my new composition. It was exceptionally painful and frustrating to finish, but I hope that those emotions added a bit of an artistic and melancholic spice to this silly little piece. Enjoy and thank you for listening.

This is my first ever composition for the duo of Alto Saxophone and (French) Horn in F. I had composed a soliloquy for Alto Saxophone around 3.5 years ago. I had also composed a solo for Horn in F more than 5 years ago. These "Three Sententiae for Saxophone and Horn, Op. 289" are composed in response to a call for pieces for this ensemble. I found the combination a rather challenging one to compose for. I include a title page as well as a description of the 'sententia' for those who are unfamiliar with it. The score is the transposing score, the actual pitches sounding a major sixth lower than written for the alto saxophone and a perfect fifth lower than written for the French Horn in F.

Hi, guys!! I'm writing a piece for french horn and prepared piano. And I want to tune french horn a quarter tone lower than normal for an entire movement. I don't want to use specific fingering for each and every note. And I know that scordatura is usually used for strings. But would there be a way to achieve the microtonal tuning? I'd think, it won't be so complicated actually. But I'm not a horn player..... And instruments don't always work, as you think they would. Please, share ideas with me, horn players, composers and everyone who's got something say to this!!!
