Hey all! I had a thought. After graduating with a music composition degree I found that a lot of online courises are directed towards film and game music, bit don't really educate other aspects of music composition. I feel like I am not alone here, so I have decided to start building course that would go over these missing aspects. Please leave your comments here on what you personally would like to see in a music composition course or take 2 minutes to fill out this survey Survey If this really peaks your interest, make sure you answer the last question to get early access to the course when it is completed!

Greetings YC Family! It's been a long time since I made a post and visited the forum. For those of you who may recognize me, you know that I was once an administrator on this site. My years on here have aided me in my ventures within the past decade. One of these ventures was the setup and creation of an online radio station devoted solely to promoting the works of new and emerging composers. This post, thus, serves two purposes: 1. To promote Et Lux Radio and encourage each and everyone of you to listen to the music of your peers as it is broadcast 24/7. and... 2. Make a formal call for live, or rendered, recordings of your works along with a signed affidavit giving Et Lux Radio permission to include the works within its broadcast. Submitted recordings need to be downloadable and in .mp3 format. They can be for any instrumentation and must be under 25 mins in length. Please include in your submission a brief biography and any related program notes for your works. Submissions can be emailed to jaowoodr@gmail.com! Thanks and I look forward to hearing your works!

Hello, I am looking for an easy way to sell my music (especially sheet music) online, because many people ask for it. Do you know a website or library where I can present and sell my music? If so, please share the link in this topic. There is an advertisement on this forum of the library Tune Bud, but I don't know if this is for music only (sound) or also for sheet music (written). This website works with Paypal and since I didn't have an account yet, I decided to register me at Paypal, but it doesn't recognise my hometown (in Holland). Do you know how I can fix this? I am looking forward to your response! Maarten

Hello all, I'm interested in internalizing the different tone colors and effects different instruments have (mutes, special bowing techniques, extended techniques, etc.). Does anyone know of an online database which has recorded samples of each instrument with different effects? For example, I'm looking for a site that could provide audio of a Horn in F playing muted (non-transposing), stopped, muted (transposing), and open. This would be as a substitute to someone who didn't have access to live players who could demonstrate these effects in person. Many thanks.

Hi everyone, My name is Jon Schwarz. I work professionally as a trombonist, composer, and sound designer, but lately I've been focusing on creating a new company, called Jukubox, that will help musicians across the country and in other parts of the world by allowing high-quality music lessons to take place online. Starving musicians will be able to make a better living by getting paid for teaching online, while students will have access to advice and insight from some of the world’s greatest music professionals. I'm really excited about how things are going so far; a lot of really talented musicians have expressed their enthusiasm about this project and they are on board to participate in a number of ways. Anyway, if anyone here has any thoughts about this project specifically, or 1-on-1 videoconferencing music lessons in general, please share; I would love to hear your thoughts. If you are looking for more information about Jukubox, check out the fundraiser page at http://www.indiegogo.com/jukubox or you can become a fan at http://www.facebook....jukuboxofficial Thanks for listening Jon
