Hey, how is everyone doing? Long time since I posted something here. (Also damn, this is my 200th post on this forum!) This time I bring you the result of a pretty interesting art trade I did where I had to compose a piece in a medieval style. Hi, I love this piece so much but I don't have a violin to play it, so I decided to arrange it for alto recorder. Here is the PDF and the try that I made to play it :3. Hope you like it. i recorded the recorder alone and then added it together with the acompaniment. -

Hello everybody, Currently, I am working on my Figured Bass skills, which I find pretty hard. To begin, I wrote the first movement of a Baroque Alto Recorder Sonata accompanied by Basso Continuo, consisting of a Harpsichord and a Viola da Gamba (or Violoncello). Recorder Sonata No.1 in C major, I. Adagio. Feedback or any thoughts would be very nice! *I just shared the 'project' file, so a part of the second movement is also shown.

So, as a pianist, and now also a recordist, I can't avoid comparing the amout of repertoire written for solo piano and solo recorder, the former is quite enormous, the latter is very scarce. So, I've decided to create this little challenge and encourage you guys to write something for solo alto recorder. Yay! As a prize, I will record the piece and post it here (the quality of the recording is similar to my Autumn Competition Entry "Variações sobre o Siriá"). I may also pick the piece to perform live in some performances I MAY have during my master's degree here (please, notice, I MAY have, it's not a promise). I don't have many guidelines for the entries. If you feel like you could do something, try. It'll be very welcome. I may even chose more than one piece. I've also attached some advice on writting for solo alto recorder. If you have any other doubt, feel free to ask here, and I'll answer. I'll set a deadline for January 9th. This is my first piece for alto recorder. I have had a soprano recorder from childhood but never learned to properly play it. I believe I also wrote a simple piece for myself to try to play, maybe a year or two ago. But unfortunately I never found it. Prelúdio e Fuga (SAT).mp3 This is a Prelude and Fugue for recorder trio (soprano, alto and tenor). I composed it for a trio (which was a quartet, but one person gave up) I would take part in, but then the whole group "ceased to exist" without a single rehearsal with everybody (= 3 people). The Prelude and Fugue continues to existe, but now without a concrete destiny. Hope you enjoy^^ OBS: I changed the VST to flutes because Garritan's recorder sound is a scream of pain from hell. OBS2: I didn't put dynamics, articulations or anything else because I'm lazy.

This is my modest entry for the 2016 Fall Competition. It's a set of variations for solo alto recorder, recorded in my not-even-close-to-a-studio bedroom. It's me playing it. Sword in My Hand (Opus 16) was inspired by Celtic and Medieval folk music. It was a part of my music production class assignment asking for complete percussion tracks. It was challenging, since I'm completely not a rhythm oriented person, and I think that the rhythm section is the worst part of the composition. Among several other instruments, the piece is played by celtic harp, hammered dulcimer, tin whistle, recorder, lute, irish bouzouki, accordion and string section (violins, cellos and basses). It is written in E flat major with a short bridge in E flat minor. The composition is all midi; I'm not capable of finding a musician playing a harp to be able to record my music, and I only possess low piano skills. I'm also not pretty sure about the panning and reverb accuracy. There is no score for this composition. I personally think, that this is one of my worst works I've ever completed.
